Kids Korner

Learning to live in the "real world" begins when kids reach school age. The foundation that was built during the toddler stage is now ready to expand. Where parents were the most influential before, now there are teachers and friends who will also have a significant impact on a child's life. What a great stage to focus on teaching your child the importance of generosity, kindness, and being good stewards of the earth - by being a great role model for them to follow! This is where they uncover their unique interests, talents, and abilities. Encourage them to explore, be creative, and discover new and exciting things!

This month's tip:

Teaching kids how to care for their bodies by eating healthy and getting regular exercise is important at this stage and will help them develop healthy habits that last a lifetime. Schedule ongoing "appointments" with your child to take a bike ride, walk around the neighborhood, or play basketball at the park. Afterwards, help him choose a healthy snack.
